Ordinary Inspiration

Selected Poems

Authored by Mr. Brian Wayne Maki

Book Description:

Brian Wayne Maki uses poetry to explain the various inspirations he finds in the vastness of this busy world in his latest book, Ordinary Inspiration. In this book, Brian continues to explore the true meaning behind the ordinary life.  His opinions express the need for ourselves to “wake-up” and begin to see the simpler things that life offers.  With a sharp eye for detail, Brian captures the heart and soul of a person who knows the vast meanings of life, leisure, solitude, peacefulness, luxury, nature, friendship, and personal growth.  All the poems relate to the various inspirations found in every-day ideals and visions we may overlook with age.

Brian tries to uncover the balance and the contradictions in the beauty of nature and the universe.  He tries to identify all the things that contradict and separate our lives into a meaningless journey.  His journey into that life lets us see many parts of himself, his passions, and his concerns.

All his poems are accompanied by photographs from his own personal photography collection, the photography of Sue Ballreich of Marquette, Michigan, the photography of Vivian Maier of New York, New York, and the watercolor drawings of Maria L. Hall of Marquette, Michigan.
