Parking Tip: All adult education classes are held at the Graveraet School. Enter through the Hewitt Street first-floor entrance, down to the end of the hall, and right to Room 117. A parking lot is available right next to the building. You can visit Graveraet School for registration and signup for classes.

Monthly Computer Maintenance – Prerequisites: 2-3 years of computer use. 6:00 – 7:30 pm Graveraet, RM 117. 1 Session. #1 Voted class! Here you learn maintenance techniques on your computer with Windows XP, Vista, or 7. How do I find the hidden junk files in my machine? How do I clear cookies or temporary files? When should I organize and remove old files? How do I restore my machine to an earlier time? From running scandisk to checking for spyware, there is plenty you can do to keep your machine healthy and happy at home or work. Instructor: Brian Maki. Class limit 15!

PowerPoint 2010 Shows – Prerequisites: No experience. 8:00 – 9:30 pm Graveraet, RM 117. 1 Session. The next generation of Office 2010 PowerPoint has arrived. Here we will take a written advertisement and turn it into an entertaining show with pictures and sounds. A fun-filled time for everyone. Basic Digital Photography – Prerequisites: 2 years of computer use. 7:00 – 9:30 pm Graveraet, RM 117. 1 Session. Do you have a digital camera? Want to get more out of it? Using the product and don’t understand it? This popular class focuses on the basics of digital cameras: importing and editing pictures, camera issues and insights, the latest technology developments, digital software suggestions, and examples of how to use the camera with your computer. Solving Common Computer Issues – Prerequisites: None. 7:00 – 8:30 pm Graveraet RM 117. 1 Session. A staggering 95% of homes in America now own more than one computer. And at any given moment, you may have troubles and concerns with these machines. You need some technical skills on how to solve the most common computer issues like pop-ups, printing problems, deleting files, failed updates, and system crashes. This productive session teaches you problem-solving skills to the most common issues, using available resources to get it done right. Now you won’t feel so helpless when that day arrives. Basic Photo Editing with Picasa – Prerequisites: 2-3 years of computer use. 6:00 – 7:30 pm Graveraet, RM 117. 1 Session. Here is where we give you a chance to learn first-hand about basic photo editing using Picasa. Picasa is Google’s free editing software program. You will learn to remove red-eye, perform cropping, change or enhance your picture’s quality, change the physical size of a picture, and to just have fun editing. Instructor: Brian Maki. Introduction to Facebook – Prerequisites: 2-3 years of computer use. 8:00 – 9:30 pm Graveraet, RM 117. 1 Session. This session is merely a discussion and showing of specific account examples. There will be no Internet connection to personal accounts. We will explore, however, setting up a new account, how to cancel an account, the new security settings, posting ideas, common-sense uses, and the current threats that exist. Word 2010: Basics and Beyond – Prerequisites: 2-3 years of computer use. 7:00 – 8:30 pm Graveraet, RM 117. 2 Sessions. This class allows you to work first-hand with Word 2010. We will explore all the superb ways to use word processing. From creating tables to copy and paste tricks, the product offers such creative ways to get the job done fast. Solving Common Computer Issues – Part II – Prerequisites: None. 7:00 – 8:30 pm Graveraet, RM 117. 1 Session. We continue on with more technical skills and reveal new products to help you remove stubborn programs. We shall list programs that you can remove from your machine. XP, Vista, and Windows 7 users will be addressed. We will also talk about on-going e-mail problems, attachment issues, and new ideas about creating a junk e-mail account.
